Our oil palm upstream plantation business is a long-term proposition and forms the core of the Kun Way Group. Our strategy since initiation is to be an upstream-focused agri-business that owns and operates good quality plantations assets and provides the best-in-class plantation management. We manage a total land bank of 251 hectares in Malaysia producing approximately 25 tonnes of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) yield per ha. The ripeness of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) harvested is critical in maximising the quality and quantity of palm oil extraction. Efficiency is key to maintaining low harvesting rounds, high yields, and to keep the fields healthy and productive for generations.
In Malaysia, we have 4 estates located in Sg Jerik, Damak, Kuala Krau and Mela, Pahang. Meanwhile in East Malaysia, our plantation activities are focused in 4 estates located in Keningau and Kudat, Sabah. We plan to expand the plantation business in future.
Being an efficient and productive upstream producer has enabled us to maintain a low-cost structure and to deliver higher margins throughout economic and commodity cycles as well as to maximise the earnings potential of our assets. This has given us greater resilience through price cycles.
Kun Way is committed to heed in sustainable agricultural practices and is aware of the footprint it leaves on the environment, and therefore our Group constantly strives to reduce variables that negatively impact the environment.
